π What Does the Secretary Do?
The Secretary serves a four-year leadership term, progressing through key roles:

Year 1 – Secretary

Year 2 – President-Elect

Year 3 – President

Year 4 – Immediate Past President
πΌ Key Responsibilities:
βοΈ Membership & Website Management – Work with the Administrative Assistant to maintain the membership database and website.
βοΈ Record Keeping – Take and file minutes for executive board meetings and the annual membership business meeting.
βοΈ Membership Engagement – Act as the Board Liaison for the Membership Committee, assisting with membership events. If no chair is in place, the Secretary takes the lead in organizing these events.
βοΈ State Representation – Serve as Alaska’s State Staff Representative to the National MGMA, keeping the Board informed on key issues.
βοΈ National Leadership Event – Attend the State Affiliate & Chapter Forum at the National MGMA Leaders Conference (paid for by AKMGMA).
β° Time Commitment:
π Board Meetings & Minutes – ~1.5 hours/month
π Membership Committee & Assistance – ~1 hour/month
π State Staff Duties – ~0.5 hours/month
